There was a slight pause in the air as Steven retaliated with a war cry screech, “MINE!” And at lightening speed they both advanced on that lonesome Chippie and stood over him! They were momentarily distracted by the slice of tater.

Wait! Was it actually trembling? Dorcas shook his head in disbelief, but that slight pause, cost both of them dearly.

Alerted to the action and banking on the promise of a full belly, the lovely Gwen swooped in and took full advantage of the situation.

All at once, all three beaks plummeted towards the squealing, terrified fry, and all at once you could hear the clunking of craniums as noggins connected, wings fluttered wildly and beaks did crazy air grabs!

In the midst of the chaotic flurry one of them had made connection with the Chippie, or perhaps the Chippie himself had mustered enough strength to propel himself into the air, either way the golden, fried to perfection prize was now anyones game!
