Captivity is an illusion, a construction of our own minds, fears, thoughts, doubts and stories that we tell ourselves or allow others to tell us.
What if you were born to sing but someone told you as a child you weren’t good enough … would you sing or would you construct a story and create a prison for your voice?
Human nature would choose the latter… how do I know? Because I did this!!
But He who the Son sets free is free indeed!!!!
What stories are you telling yourself little songbird? What words have held you in captivity for far too long?
It’s time to realise that the bars that hold you have holes in them and they will bend like rubber when you are ready to step through and take flight!!
This painting is so very rich in symbolism:
In the background on the left you will see all the Hebrew words for Freedom and liberty (one of them actually means to be released like a sparrow!) nestled in between stylised “bars” that are only dotted out like a perforation mark, ready to be torn!
There are 2 triangles in behind the little bird one bronze and one blue. The bronze symbolises the triune God-3 in one and the blue is the human make up body, mind, spirit.
The bronze poles reaching for heaven are a statement for healing. Moses had a bronze snake on a pole, and whoever looked at it would be healed in all human realms of mind , body & soul.
The bronze in the birds tail is symbolic of the bronze feet of Jesus in Revelation 1:14-16, who has come to pass judgement on the enemy of our souls.
The golden honeycomb represents the blessings of His glory as we work together in unity like the bees to bring freedom to others who are held captive… so once you are free, you encourage others to find their freedom.
